Our organization at Opavská Street offers social services in two barrier-free buildings called D1 and D2, on the outskirts of the part of Ostrava called Poruba, near the tram and bus stops. Our home has undergone an extensive reconstruction of the interior and exterior in the period 2003 - 2006. There is also S - center with daily service.

Building - D1

This object was created in 1965 from a hostel OKD. In order to improve the living conditions for the clients there was a need for a  reconstruction, which first phase was completed in January 2005. There are provided two social services in this buildidng - service "Old People´s Home" and service "Home with the special regime" in building D1.

Capacity

The capacity of the building D1 is 210 clients, there are 114 single rooms, 39 double rooms and 6 triple rooms.  Most of them have private bathroom facilities.  Each client can have his own TV and other small personal things as paintings, wall clock or chair.  The capacity of the service "Home with the Special Regime" is 72 clients and the capacity of the service "Old People´s Home  is 138 clients. "

Building - D2

The object D2 was built as a pension for retirees in 1975, the reconstruction of this building  was finished in September 2006. After that is the capacity of this object 190 clients of the service „Old People´s Home“.

Capacity

There are 90 single rooms, 10 double rooms with private bathroom and 10 triple rooms with bathroom facilities on every department.  There are also 20 small apartments and 15 double rooms with bathroom and kitchen.

Health care

We provide the health care to all of our clients.  It is daily provided by nurses and general practitioners.  The section of rehabilitation with a new equipement offers hydrotherapy, electrotherapy, physiotherapy pool and a  gym.  Clients can also use such services as hairdressing, cosmetics, pedicure and canteen.  Of course the clients can use all services outside our organization.

Leisure Time Activities

are adjusted  to the interests of clients.  There are courses of cooking, handcrafts, ceramics, music therapy, memory training.  For our clients we organize cultural and social events, trips and sports games.  The clients have also the possibility to hold small family celebrations in our cultural rooms. Very popular with the clients is the canistherapy.

Object

has a large private garden with outdoor seating where many  sport activities can take place(skittles, giant chess, children playground, etc.).  Recently we opened a Fit-park for the elderly in our garden, which has a beneficial effect on body and soul.
There is a new chapel and library with internet connection on the upper floor of the D1.

Catering Service

is  provided by two separated kitchens during the whole day.  There is also a possibility to dispose meals to seniors from the surrounding area.  The organization has a special permission for cooking for external customers.

Central laundry

provides service for both buildings.

Other services:

• rental of commercial space (community halls including technical background)
• possibility of accommodation (guest rooms) for visits
• catering for external customers
